{"id":5,"date":"2025-09-09T09:37:01","date_gmt":"2025-09-09T09:37:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jaysgame.club\/blog\/?p=5"},"modified":"2025-09-09T09:37:01","modified_gmt":"2025-09-09T09:37:01","slug":"german-gambling-regulator-warns-against-social-betting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jaysgame.club\/blog\/2025\/09\/09\/german-gambling-regulator-warns-against-social-betting\/","title":{"rendered":"German gambling regulator warns against social betting"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>The German gambling regulator has blasted social betting platforms and named Polymarket specifically<\/li>\n<li>According to the regulator, these platforms are gambling and fail to meet standards under German laws<\/li>\n<li>Instances of social betting are increasingly popular across the country<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The German gambling regulator,\u00a0<strong>Gemeinsame Gl\u00fccksspielbeh\u00f6rde der L\u00e4nder<\/strong>\u00a0(GGL), has warned against participation in social betting activities, which the watchdog said are increasingly common.<\/p>\n<p>The GGL went so far as to outline specific examples of platforms that it\u00a0believed violate local laws, naming\u00a0<strong>Polymarket<\/strong>, which the regulator said is not a permitted product to explore and is considered illegal under German law.<\/p>\n<h2>German regulator says prediction platforms and social betting don\u2019t have a place in the country<\/h2>\n<p>The regulator noted that there have been increasing reports of social betting in both regional and national betting, and that some recreational betting would go so far as to focus on the outcome of\u00a0<strong>the<\/strong><strong>Ukrainian war<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The GGL insisted that these social betting formats have been increasingly susceptible to manipulation and, as such, ought to be avoided altogether.
